Le Groupe TKO met toute la gomme pour la présentation de son 4e gala au Centre Bell, le 30e de l’histoire de l’organisation. Deux combats de championnat seront les points culminants d’une soirée qui mettra en vedette plusieurs des meilleurs athlètes de l’organisation. En grande finale de la soirée, l’excellent SAM STOUT, 3 fois vétéran du UFC à Las Vegas procèdera à la 4e défense de son titre TKO des poids légers contre le québécois MARTIN GRANDMONT dans un combat qui promet énormément d’action alors que les deux athlètes sont des spécialistes du combat debout. En demi-finale, le très populaire SEAN PIERSON tentera de sauter sur l’occasion en or qui se présente devant lui alors qu’il croise le fer avec le redoutable CHRIS CLEMENTS pour le titre vacant des poids mi-moyens. Deux combats spectaculaires et attendus du public pour coiffer une soirée qui mettra aussi en vedette les STÉPHANE DUBÉ, STEVE BOSSÉ, STÉPHANE VIGNEAULT et plusieurs autres! Un total de 8 combats sera présenté sur la carte principale!

Sam « Hands of Stone » Stout est l’un des plus beaux athlètes canadiens en combats ultimes – spectaculaire et intense, Stout en plus d’être le champion TKO des 155 livres est aussi une vedette montante de l’organisation américaine UFC. Stout en sera à un 11e combat au sein de l’organisation TKO et il est toujours invaincu en sol québécois avec une fiche de 10-0-0. Cherchant toujours à y aller pour le KO à chacun de ses combats, il s’attend à toute une guerre pour la 4e défense de son titre face à un athlète qui possède un style similaire au sien, le québécois Martin « The Hammer » Grandmont. Originaire de Drummondville, Grandmont a pris la meilleure décision de sa carrière lorsqu’il a quitté les 170 livres afin d’évoluer à un poids plus naturel pour lui chez les 155 livres. Toujours invaincu à ce poids, Grandmont possède sensiblement les mêmes qualités que le champion mais crois que son désir de vaincre fera la différence dans ce combat qui risque de faire lever le toit du Centre Bell! Préparez-vous à tout un combat entre deux athlètes qui aiment y aller coup pour coup!

Sean « The Pimp » Pierson a toujours été considéré comme l’un des plus beau talent canadien en combats ultimes. En début de carrière, lui et Georges St-Pierre étaient considérés comme les deux joyaux au pays dans ce sport. St-Pierre a évolué et est même devenu champion mondial de l’organisation UFC en plus de se développer comme l’un des meilleurs athlètes « livres pour livres » de la planète. Pierson a connu un parcours totalement différent, après une défaite crève-cœur en Janvier 2002 il a préféré se retirer de la scène mais n’a jamais cessé de s’entraîner. Lutteur de niveau olympique et athlète charismatique au possible, Pierson a décidé de faire un grand retour en 2007 et après une victoire expéditive lors de son retour en mars dernier, il s’attaque maintenant à l’aspirant #1 des 170 livres pour le titre vacant de la division. Chris « The Menace » Clements est bien connu des amateurs de combats ultimes québécois puisqu’il leur a fait vivre toutes sortes d’émotions depuis le début de sa carrière. Toujours invaincu au sein de l’organisation TKO, Clements possède le KO le plus rapide de l’histoire des combats ultimes, une retentissante victoire en seulement 6 secondes! Plusieurs considèrent que Clements est probablement l’un des plus solides cogneurs « livres pour livres » en combats ultimes et il compte bien sortir de l’Octogone avec le titre TKO bien ancré autour de sa taille! Un véritable classique alors que le lutteur spécialiste du combat au sol se frotte à un dangereux boxeur intraitable en position debout!

La carte marquera aussi le retour du poids lourd Steve « The Boss » Bossé qui tentera d’y aller d’une deuxième victoire consécutive en ce début de carrière pour lui. Stéphane « Senseï » Dubé qui rêvait d’un combat de championnat face à Sam Stout devra affronter un aspirant obligatoire et une victoire lui garanti un combat de championnat le 14 décembre au Centre Bell. L’événement marquera aussi le retour du fort talentueux Stéphane « Simba » Vigneault qui a repris l’entrainement et ne vise rien de moins qu’un éventuel combat face au champion Hatsu Hioki. Mark « The Machine » Hominick fera aussi un retour dans l’organisation TKO lors de cet incroyable gala!

TKO Major League MMA is excited to announce two terrific bouts for TKO 30: Apocalypse which is set to take place at the Bell Centre in Montreal, Canada on September 28th, 2007. In the main event, Sam "Hands of Stone" Stout returns to defend his Lightweight Championship against the dangerous, Martin "The Hammer" Grandmont. This is a match-up between two of MMA’s best kick-boxers and is guaranteed to have plenty of fireworks! The co-main event will feature Chris “The Menace” Clements against Sean “The Pimp” Pierson for the vacant Welterweight Title! This is a classic match-up of striker versus grappler between two of the country’s top welterweights.

SAM STOUT was last seen in the main event of the most recent Ultimate Fight Night. It was a very exciting, back and forth war with top UFC Lightweight, Spenser Fisher who Stout had previous beaten in his UFC debut. Fisher evened the score with a decision victory, but Stout’s UFC career remains a very bright one. Always wanting to stay active and never backing down from a challenge, Stout will now honor Canadian fans with his fourth title defense! Grandmont and Stout actually fought each other in a very close and action packed amateur kickboxing bout many years ago. It will be interesting to see them carry their feud to MMA as both have similar skill sets. They not only possess superior kick-boxing skills, but they also have excellent cardio and very good takedown defenses. This should be a very competitive and highly entertaining battle for TKO fans! MARTIN GRANDMONT is an amateur kick-boxing champion and has looked unstoppable since dropping to Lightweight. He annihilated a very highly regarded, Tyler Jackson at TKO 29 and managed to stop Dave Pariseau with strikes at TKO 28. TKO fans have seen his skills and confidence grow leaps and bounds since making his debut two years ago. Coincidently, Grandmont carries the burden of two losses to Team Tompkins’ fighters which likely adds fuel to his fire as he now looks to become the TKO Lightweight Champion!

CHRIS CLEMENTS has been unstoppable since making his TKO debut. He is on a four fight win streak, with all of his wins coming via knockout, including the fastest knockout in MMA history in only 6 seconds! Clements is another Team Tompkins superstar with excellent striking, devastating ground and pound and incredible strength. His opponent, SEAN PIERSON, is a very accomplished wrestler from Shah Franco Martial Arts in Toronto, Ontario. In the original days of TKO, President Stephane Patry predicted that Pierson and Georges St-Pierre were going to be the next big international superstars of MMA. St-Pierre’s accomplishments are well known, but Pierson instead chose to pursue a normal life outside of the sport. He got married and landed a high paying job in the technology industry. But, Pierson always felt as if he left something behind and after watching the successes of his TKO companions he’s now chosen to return to pursue his dream. He looked as if he hadn’t lost a step in his comeback fight quickly disposing of Chester Post and he now looks to realize his dream of becoming a TKO Champion! Don’t be surprised if this fight gets surrounded by a lot of drama between now and September 28th. Both fighters are supremely confident of their abilities and have been outspoken on their opponents in the past. This is a pivotal moment in both of their careers as the winner becomes Welterweight Champion and will surely have many opportunities which have not been previously afforded to them. In the end, TKO fans are going to be treated to a compelling and electrifying clash between two powerhouses!
